My ped also recommended benadryl for my 20 month olds (24 lbs) runny nose. It made her very "out of it". Because I was worried about the dosage I asked her to write it down on paper. She said 1/2 tsp every 6 hours. I still don't know if I like the idea of giving her this for a runny nose.
